Tafsir of Verse 65, Surah Al-Furqaan
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
English Translation
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;English Transliteration
Waallatheena yaqooloona rabbana isrif AAanna AAathaba jahannama inna AAathabaha kana gharamanTafsir of Verse 65
who say, 'Our Lord, turn Thou from us the chastisement of Gehenna; surely its chastisement is torment most terrible;
Those who say, "Our Lord! avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous,-
The Fifth Characteristic
وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ (and those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Jahannam - 25:65). It means that despite their constant prayers day and night, these favoured ones do not sit content, but are always fearful of God and keep in mind the Day of Judgment. To that end they keep alive the righteous deeds as well as supplications before Allah.
