قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ﴿1﴾ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ﴿2﴾ إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ﴿3﴾ مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ﴿4﴾ ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ﴿5﴾ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ﴿6﴾

Tafsir of Surah An-Naas (Yusuf Ali: Abdullah Yusuf Ali)

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ﴿1﴾

English Translation

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, (1)

English Transliteration

Qul aAAoothu birabbi alnnasi (1)

Tafsir of Verse 1

Say: I seek refuge with the Lord and Cherisher of Mankind, (1)

مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ﴿2﴾

English Translation

The Sovereign of mankind. (2)

English Transliteration

Maliki alnnasi (2)

Tafsir of Verse 2

The King (or Ruler) of Mankind, (2)

إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ﴿3﴾

English Translation

The God of mankind, (3)

English Transliteration

Ilahi alnnasi (3)

Tafsir of Verse 3

The god (or judge) of Mankind,- (3)

مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ﴿4﴾

English Translation

From the evil of the retreating whisperer - (4)

English Transliteration

Min sharri alwaswasi alkhannasi (4)

Tafsir of Verse 4

From the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws (after his whisper),- (4)

ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ﴿5﴾

English Translation

Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind - (5)

English Transliteration

Allathee yuwaswisu fee sudoori alnnasi (5)

Tafsir of Verse 5

(The same) who whispers into the hearts of Mankind,- (5)

مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ﴿6﴾

English Translation

From among the jinn and mankind." (6)

English Transliteration

Mina aljinnati wa alnnasm (6)

Among Jinns and among men. (6)
