Surah Maryam: Verse 13 - وحنانا من لدنا وزكاة ۖ... - English
Tafsir of Verse 13, Surah Maryam
وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةً ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا
English Translation
And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of AllahEnglish Transliteration
Wahananan min ladunna wazakatan wakana taqiyyanTafsir of Verse 13
and a tenderness from Us, and purity; and he was godfearing,
And piety (for all creatures) as from Us, and purity: He was devout,
حَنَانًا Literal meaning of this word is soft heartedness, compassion and mercy, and these qualities were specially granted to Sayyidna Yahya (علیہ السلام) .
