Surah Al-Mulk
سُورَةُ المُلۡكِ
Page 563 (Verses from 13 to 26)
وَأَسِرُّوا۟ قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ ٱجْهَرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًا فَٱمْشُوا۟ فِى مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِهِۦ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ
ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَمُورُ
أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَٰٓفَّٰتٍ وَيَقْبِضْنَ ۚ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍۭ بَصِيرٌ
أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى هُوَ جُندٌ لَّكُمْ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۚ إِنِ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِى غُرُورٍ
أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّجُّوا۟ فِى عُتُوٍّ وَنُفُورٍ
أَفَمَن يَمْشِى مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦٓ أَهْدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمْشِى سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۖ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
قُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلْعِلْمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

Tafsir of Surah Al-Mulk (Yusuf Ali: Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
English Translation
And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.English Transliteration
Waasirroo qawlakum awi ijharoo bihi innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori
And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts.
English Translation
Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?English Transliteration
Ala yaAAlamu man khalaqa wahuwa allateefu alkhabeeru
Should He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them).
English Translation
It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection.English Transliteration
Huwa allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda thaloolan faimshoo fee manakibiha wakuloo min rizqihi wailayhi alnnushooru
It is He Who has made the earth manageable for you, so traverse ye through its tracts and enjoy of the Sustenance which He furnishes: but unto Him is the Resurrection.
English Translation
Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?English Transliteration
Aamintum man fee alssamai an yakhsifa bikumu alarda faitha hiya tamooru
Do ye feel secure that He Who is in heaven will not cause you to be swallowed up by the earth when it shakes (as in an earthquake)?
أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ
English Translation
Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.English Transliteration
Am amintum man fee alssamai an yursila AAalaykum hasiban fasataAAlamoona kayfa natheeri
Or do ye feel secure that He Who is in Heaven will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones), so that ye shall know how (terrible) was My warning?
English Translation
And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.English Transliteration
Walaqad kaththaba allatheena min qablihim fakayfa kana nakeeri
But indeed men before them rejected (My warning): then how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)?
English Translation
Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.English Transliteration
Awalam yaraw ila alttayri fawqahum saffatin wayaqbidna ma yumsikuhunna illa alrrahmanu innahu bikulli shayin baseerun
Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly it is He that watches over all things.
English Translation
Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.English Transliteration
Amman hatha allathee huwa jundun lakum yansurukum min dooni alrrahmani ini alkafiroona illa fee ghuroorin
Nay, who is there that can help you, (even as) an army, besides (Allah) Most Merciful? In nothing but delusion are the Unbelievers.
English Translation
Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.English Transliteration
Amman hatha allathee yarzuqukum in amsaka rizqahu bal lajjoo fee AAutuwwin wanufoorin
Or who is there that can provide you with Sustenance if He were to withhold His provision? Nay, they obstinately persist in insolent impiety and flight (from the Truth).
English Translation
Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?English Transliteration
Afaman yamshee mukibban AAala wajhihi ahda amman yamshee sawiyyan AAala siratin mustaqeemin
Is then one who walks headlong, with his face grovelling, better guided,- or one who walks evenly on a Straight Way?
English Translation
Say, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful."English Transliteration
Qul huwa allathee anshaakum wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona
Say: "It is He Who has created you (and made you grow), and made for you the faculties of hearing, seeing, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give.
English Translation
Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."English Transliteration
Qul huwa allathee tharaakum fee alardi wailayhi tuhsharoona
Say: "It is He Who has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered together."
English Translation
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"English Transliteration
Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
They ask: When will this promise be (fulfilled)? - If ye are telling the truth.
English Translation
Say, "The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."English Transliteration
Qul innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun
Say: "As to the knowledge of the time, it is with Allah alone: I am (sent) only to warn plainly in public."
