Surah An-Naba
سُورَةُ النَّبَإِ
Page 583 (Verses from 31 to 40)
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًا
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا
وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا
جَزَآءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا

Tafsir of Surah An-Naba (Arberry: A. J. Arberry)
English Translation
Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -English Transliteration
Inna lilmuttaqeena mafazan
Surely for the godfearing awaits a place of security,
English Translation
Gardens and grapevinesEnglish Transliteration
Hadaiqa waaAAnaban
gardens and vineyards
English Translation
And full-breasted [companions] of equal ageEnglish Transliteration
WakawaAAiba atraban
and maidens with swelling breasts, like of age,
English Translation
And a full cup.English Transliteration
Wakasan dihaqan
and a cup overflowing.
English Translation
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -English Transliteration
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththaban
Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cry of lies,
English Translation
[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,English Transliteration
Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaban
for a recompense from thy Lord, a gift, a reckoning,
English Translation
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.English Transliteration
Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alrrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaban
Lord of the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, the All-merciful of whom they have no power to speak.
English Translation
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.English Transliteration
Yawma yaqoomu alrroohu waalmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waqala sawaban
Upon the day when the Spirit and the angels stand in ranks they shall speak not, save him to whom the All-merciful has given leave, and who speaks aright.
English Translation
That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.English Transliteration
Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaban
That is the true day; so whosoever wills takes unto his Lord a resort.
English Translation
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"English Transliteration
Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya laytanee kuntu turaban
Lo, We have warned you of a nigh chastisement, upon the day when a man shall behold what his hands have forwarded, and the unbeliever shall say, 'O would that I were dust!'
