Surah An-Nahl
سُورَةُ النَّحۡلِ
Page 269 (Verses from 15 to 26)
وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَٰرًا وَسُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
وَعَلَٰمَٰتٍ ۚ وَبِٱلنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
أَفَمَن يَخْلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخْلُقُ ۗ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ
أَمْوَٰتٌ غَيْرُ أَحْيَآءٍ ۖ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ
إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٌ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ ۙ قَالُوٓا۟ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
لِيَحْمِلُوٓا۟ أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةً يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۙ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ
قَدْ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنْيَٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّقْفُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Tafsir of Surah An-Nahl (Arberry: A. J. Arberry)
English Translation
And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided,English Transliteration
Waalqa fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bikum waanharan wasubulan laAAallakum tahtadoona
And He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and rivers and ways; so haply you will be guided;
English Translation
And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided.English Transliteration
WaAAalamatin wabialnnajmi hum yahtadoona
and waymarks; and by the stars they are guided.
English Translation
Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded?English Transliteration
Afaman yakhluqu kaman la yakhluqu afala tathakkaroona
Is He who creates as he who does not create? Will you not remember?
English Translation
And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.English Transliteration
Wain taAAuddoo niAAmata Allahi la tuhsooha inna Allaha laghafoorun raheemun
If you count God's blessing, you will never number it; surely God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.
English Translation
And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare.English Transliteration
WaAllahu yaAAlamu ma tusirroona wama tuAAlinoona
And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish.
English Translation
And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created.English Transliteration
Waallatheena yadAAoona min dooni Allahi la yakhluqoona shayan wahum yukhlaqoona
And those they call upon, apart from God, created nothing, and themselves are created,
English Translation
They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.English Transliteration
Amwatun ghayru ahyain wama yashAAuroona ayyana yubAAathoona
dead, not alive; and are not aware when they shall be raised.
English Translation
Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant.English Transliteration
Ilahukum ilahun wahidun faallatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati quloobuhum munkiratun wahum mustakbiroona
Your God is One God. And they who believe not in the world to come, their hearts deny, and they have waxed proud.
English Translation
Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.English Transliteration
La jarama anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona innahu la yuhibbu almustakbireena
Without a doubt God knows what they keep secret and what they publish; He loves not those that wax proud.
English Translation
And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" They say, "Legends of the former peoples,"English Transliteration
Waitha qeela lahum matha anzala rabbukum qaloo asateeru alawwaleena
And when it is said to them, 'What has your Lord sent down?' they say, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients.'
English Translation
That they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear.English Transliteration
Liyahmiloo awzarahum kamilatan yawma alqiyamati wamin awzari allatheena yudilloonahum bighayri AAilmin ala saa ma yaziroona
That they may bear their loads complete on the Day of Resurrection, and some of the loads of those that they lead astray without any knowledge. O evil the load they bear!
English Translation
Those before them had already plotted, but Allah came at their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive.English Transliteration
Qad makara allatheena min qablihim faata Allahu bunyanahum mina alqawaAAidi fakharra AAalayhimu alssaqfu min fawqihim waatahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona
Those that were before them contrived; then God came upon their building from the foundations, and the roof fell down on them from over them, and the chastisement came upon them from whence they were not aware.
