Tafsir of Verse 54, Surah Taa-Haa
كُلُوا۟ وَٱرْعَوْا۟ أَنْعَٰمَكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلنُّهَىٰ
English Translation
Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence.English Transliteration
Kuloo wairAAaw anAAamakum inna fee thalika laayatin liolee alnnuhaTafsir of Verse 54
Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason.
Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding.
The next verse (54) says إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُولِي النُّهَىٰ (Surely, in that there are signs for the people of understanding. (20:54). The word النُّهَىٰ is the plural of نُھیَۃ (nuhyah) which is used in the same sense as عققل (aql: Intelligence) because it enables wise and intelligent persons to avoid harmful acts.
