Surah Maryam
سُورَةُ مَرۡيَمَ
Page 309 (Verses from 52 to 64)
وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَٰهُ نَجِيًّا
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَٰرُونَ نَبِيًّا
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّا
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا
وَرَفَعْنَٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩
۞ فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا
جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّا
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَٰمًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
تِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّا
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا

Tafsir of Surah Maryam (Arberry: A. J. Arberry)
English Translation
And We called him from the side of the mount at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him].English Transliteration
Wanadaynahu min janibi alttoori alaymani waqarrabnahu najiyyan
We called to him from the right side Of the Mount, and We brought him near in communion.
English Translation
And We gave him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron as a prophet.English Transliteration
Wawahabna lahu min rahmatina akhahu haroona nabiyyan
And We gave him his brother Aaron, of Our mercy, a Prophet.
English Translation
And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet.English Transliteration
Waothkur fee alkitabi ismaAAeela innahu kana sadiqa alwaAAdi wakana rasoolan nabiyyan
And mention in the Book Ishmael; he was true to his promise, and he was a Messenger, a Prophet.
English Translation
And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and zakah and was to his Lord pleasing.English Transliteration
Wakana yamuru ahlahu bialssalati waalzzakati wakana AAinda rabbihi mardiyyan
He bade his people to pray and to give the alms, and he was pleasing to his Lord.
English Translation
And mention in the Book, Idrees. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.English Transliteration
Waothkur fee alkitabi idreesa innahu kana siddeeqan nabiyyan
And mention in the Book Idris; he was a true man, a Prophet.
English Translation
And We raised him to a high station.English Transliteration
WarafaAAnahu makanan AAaliyyan
We raised him up to a high place.
English Translation
Those were the ones upon whom Allah bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam and of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping.English Transliteration
Olaika allatheena anAAama Allahu AAalayhim mina alnnabiyyeena min thurriyyati adama wamimman hamalna maAAa noohin wamin thurriyyati ibraheema waisraeela wamimman hadayna waijtabayna itha tutla AAalayhim ayatu alrrahmani kharroo sujjadan wabukiyyan
These are they whom God has blessed among the Prophets of the seed of Adam, and of those We bore with Noah, and of the seed of Abraham and Israel, and of those We guided and chose. When the signs of the All-merciful were recited to them, they fell down prostrate, weeping.
English Translation
But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -English Transliteration
Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun adaAAoo alssalata waittabaAAoo alshshahawati fasawfa yalqawna ghayyan
Then there succeeded after them a succession who wasted the prayer, and followed lusts; so they shall encounter error
English Translation
Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.English Transliteration
Illa man taba waamana waAAamila salihan faolaika yadkhuloona aljannata wala yuthlamoona shayan
save him who repents, and believes, and does a righteous deed; those -- they shall enter Paradise, and they shall not be wronged anything;
English Translation
[Therein are] gardens of perpetual residence which the Most Merciful has promised His servants in the unseen. Indeed, His promise has ever been coming.English Transliteration
Jannati AAadnin allatee waAAada alrrahmanu AAibadahu bialghaybi innahu kana waAAduhu matiyyan
Gardens of Eden that the All-merciful promised His servants in the Unseen; His promise is ever performed.
English Translation
They will not hear therein any ill speech - only [greetings of] peace - and they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon.English Transliteration
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan illa salaman walahum rizquhum feeha bukratan waAAashiyyan
There they shall hear no idle talk, but only 'Peace.' There they shall have their provision at dawn and evening.
English Translation
That is Paradise, which We give as inheritance to those of Our servants who were fearing of Allah.English Transliteration
Tilka aljannatu allatee noorithu min AAibadina man kana taqiyyan
That is Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our servants who are godfearing.
English Translation
[Gabriel said], "And we [angels] descend not except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs that before us and that behind us and what is in between. And never is your Lord forgetful -English Transliteration
Wama natanazzalu illa biamri rabbika lahu ma bayna aydeena wama khalfana wama bayna thalika wama kana rabbuka nasiyyan
We come not down, save at the commandment of thy Lord. To Him belongs all that is before us, and all that is behind us, and all between that.
