Surah Ad-Dukhaan
سُورَةُ الدُّخَانِ
Page 498 (Verses from 40 to 59)
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ

Tafsir of Surah Ad-Dukhaan (Yusuf Ali: Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
English Translation
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all -English Transliteration
Inna yawma alfasli meeqatuhum ajmaAAeena
Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,-
English Translation
The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped -English Transliteration
Yawma la yughnee mawlan AAan mawlan shayan wala hum yunsaroona
The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive,
English Translation
Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.English Transliteration
Illa man rahima Allahu innahu huwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
English Translation
Indeed, the tree of zaqqumEnglish Transliteration
Inna shajarata alzzaqqoomi
Verily the tree of Zaqqum
English Translation
Is food for the sinful.English Transliteration
TaAAamu alatheemi
Will be the food of the Sinful,-
English Translation
Like murky oil, it boils within belliesEnglish Transliteration
Kaalmuhli yaghlee fee albutooni
Like molten brass; it will boil in their insides.
English Translation
Like the boiling of scalding water.English Transliteration
Kaghalyi alhameemi
Like the boiling of scalding water.
English Translation
[It will be commanded], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire,English Transliteration
Khuthoohu faiAAtiloohu ila sawai aljaheemi
(A voice will cry: "Seize ye him and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Fire!
English Translation
Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water."English Transliteration
Thumma subboo fawqa rasihi min AAathabi alhameemi
"Then pour over his head the Penalty of Boiling Water,
English Translation
[It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble!English Transliteration
Thuq innaka anta alAAazeezu alkareemu
"Taste thou (this)! Truly wast thou mighty, full of honour!
English Translation
Indeed, this is what you used to dispute."English Transliteration
Inna hatha ma kuntum bihi tamtaroona
"Truly this is what ye used to doubt!"
English Translation
Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place;English Transliteration
Inna almuttaqeena fee maqamin ameenin
As to the Righteous (they will be) in a position of Security,
English Translation
Within gardens and springs,English Transliteration
Fee jannatin waAAuyoonin
Among Gardens and Springs;
English Translation
Wearing [garments of] fine silk and brocade, facing each other.English Transliteration
Yalbasoona min sundusin waistabraqin mutaqabileena
Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other;
English Translation
Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.English Transliteration
Kathalika wazawwajnahum bihoorin AAeenin
So; and We shall join them to fair women with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes.
English Translation
They will call therein for every [kind of] fruit - safe and secure.English Transliteration
YadAAoona feeha bikulli fakihatin amineena
There can they call for every kind of fruit in peace and security;
English Translation
They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of HellfireEnglish Transliteration
La yathooqoona feeha almawta illa almawtata aloola wawaqahum AAathaba aljaheemi
Nor will they there taste Death, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire,-
English Translation
As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment.English Transliteration
Fadlan min rabbika thalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu
As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement!
English Translation
And indeed, We have eased the Qur\'an in your tongue that they might be reminded.English Transliteration
Fainnama yassarnahu bilisanika laAAallahum yatathakkaroona
Verily, We have made this (Qur'an) easy, in thy tongue, in order that they may give heed.
English Translation
So watch, [O Muhammad]; indeed, they are watching [for your end].English Transliteration
Fairtaqib innahum murtaqiboona
So wait thou and watch; for they (too) are waiting.
